We’re really excited to be coordinating the 2011 ArteEast Benefit Auction. The artists and team at ArteEast are amazing. Especially inspiring is the fact that two of our clients are collaborating to make this important event happen. In this case, the Auction Steering Committee is comprised of Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath, the geniuses behind Art Reoriented.
The works include pieces from some of today’s most important artists and takes place at Philips de Pury in Manhattan. For our friends across the oceans, fret not. You can bid online for some of the works here: http://auction.arteeast.org/
Donated works include pieces by many of our other clients and friends:
Afsoon, Negar Ahkami, Shiva Ahmadi, Sadik Alfraji, Ayad Alkadhi, Mounira Al Solh, Nihad Al Turk, Kamrooz Aram, Shoja Azari, Lara Baladi, Yto Barrada, Walid El Masri, Mona Hatoum, Rachel Hovnanian, Shahram Karimi, Laleh Khorramian, Alexis Laurent, Ahmed Mater, Shirin Neshat, Nicky Nodjoumi, Mohannad Orabi, Walid Raad, Arnaud Rivieren, Marwan Sahmarani, Kais Salman, Soody Sharifi, Khaled Takreti, Omran Younes, and Shawki Youssef.
The angst this brings us is precisely what we deserve for staying up too late surfing the internet.

We’ve had the pleasure of representing a number of Yemeni’s here at The Make Agency. Though it’s high on our wishlist, we’ve regrettably never been able to visit and see Yemen for ourselves. These photos remind us that despite all the struggles faced by this small nation, it is without question one of the most beautiful in the Middle East.

While we are at it, here are two of our favorite films about Yemen:

This will surely be an amazing exhibit. We’ve been lucky enough to cross paths with the folks at Free Art & Technology laboratory and Graffiti Research Labs before and they are some of the most innovative folks out there. What they’ve done for TEMPT1 is beyond art, it’s true friendship.
PR Newser recently ran an Q&A with author Paul Temporal about how to reach the Islamic Market.
Interesting insight, though next time PR Newser, call The Make Agency.
